Our mission is to find and train people who are willing and able to care for Queensland children in need of a safe and loving home. We work with individuals from all walks of life, backgrounds and cultures who share a common passion for child safety and helping young people thrive. We offer guidance, support and training to our foster carers, QLD-wide, so they can provide the best possible foster care for the children in their care. We do this because we believe that every foster child deserves to be safe, supported and loved, wherever they are in the foster care system.
You Be You is not just a program for foster and kinship carers - it’s also a community of like-minded people. We connect every foster carer, QLD-wide, to each other, so they can share their experiences, challenges and joys of caring for children. We also organise events and activities for our foster parents and the children in their care, such as picnics, workshops, outings and celebrations. We want every foster parent and child to feel valued and supported by each other and by us.
Our foster care agency also advocates for the rights and needs of children and young people in care, and we raise awareness about the issues they face. The You Be You team works with other organisations, agencies and disability services to improve the quality and outcomes of care for children and young people in Queensland. We believe that by collaborating, together, we can make a difference in the lives of children and young people in care.
You Be You is always looking for more foster carers to join our program and experience foster care placements.
